Noisy Pixel’s Azario Lopez sat down with the president of Nihon Falcom at last week’s Anime Expo to ask about the company’s plans for the future. When asked if he wanted to go back and remaster or remake older games, president Toshihiro Kondo replied:
“It’s kind of hard as a creator not to want to go and maybe fix those old games and make them again. This is certainly the desire of the creator. Honestly, I can’t talk about the details, but there is a title we’re working on that could be considered a remake. Expect to hear about this title before the end of the year.”
Kondo previously mentioned that he would like to see Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand remade before he retires.
Falcom has already had a busy year so far, with the release of The Legend of Heroes: Tails Through Daybreak and the reveal of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana’s localization just this month. In October, Ys X: Nordics will get a Western version, and now Falcom fans have one more treat before 2024 comes to an end.
