24 games to remember before the Xbox 360 Store closes

The Xbox 360 is one of the best consoles of all time, which led the ecosystem for indie games and digital downloads, among other things. This makes the closure of the Xbox 360 Marketplace End of July This is all the more bittersweet as the console’s storefront will be permanently offline, bringing an end to one of the most diverse game libraries of all time.

Despite Microsoft’s investment in making many of the console’s games backwards compatible on Xbox One and Series X/S, there are plenty of gems, junk, and everything in between that will be all the more difficult to play once the lights go out due to a number of licensing issues and technical difficulties. And while some of these games are available on PC, many of them are unavailable or have since been removed from the list.

Players can still go online and re-download games and DLC from their existing Xbox 360 libraries, but they cannot add anything new. Many games are currently on offer until the shutdown date of July 29, 2024. Others are long gone, or only have free trials or demos available for download. Here are 24 oddball favorites and all-time classics from the Red Ring years that we hope to see again one day, or at least preserve for the historical record.
