Following a leak, Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Game Pass service will indeed be increasing its prices across all of its tiers, but the subscription service is also seeing some additional changes on top of that, and some pretty big ones, as reported by Windows Central.
Although existing subscribers will retain their membership as is, New users will not be able to subscribe to the current basic tier starting July 10.
Microsoft will also introduce a new tier of subscription service, called “Xbox Game Pass Standard.”replacing the existing base service for console users. In this new modality, no day one launches will be included. This means that the only way for Game Pass subscribers to access titles from day one would be to subscribe to the Ultimate or PC tiers. With Ultimate, this would also be the only way to access the cloud. While EA Play will only be accessible through Ultimate or PC Game Pass.
Another key point is the exact release date of “Xbox Game Pass Standard”. Microsoft indicates that the new level will be available from September 12, 2024,. Confirmed prices for Europe are:
