Okay, one thing you can’t accuse the developers of The First Descendant of is not listening. Update 1.0.2 is here and brings a whole host of useful changes.
One week after the release, Nexon can still be satisfied with the launch of The First Descendant. Although the number of players has dropped slightly, there are still between 150,000 and 200,000 players playing the game every day on Steam alone. They can now look forward to a new update with the version number 1.0.2, which has been released in parallel for all platforms.
From the patch notes, it is easy to see that the developers are listening to the community’s feedback, as some desired and useful changes have emerged.
This starts with the fact that the Infiltration Operations now also have matchmaking in hard mode and you no longer have to laboriously find other players yourself. Furthermore, the “sequential” immunity balls for bosses have been replaced by the normal versions, so you no longer have to shoot the already annoying marbles in a certain order. The mechanics are not suitable for public play.
The developers have also realized that the abilities of the boss monsters are too boring and monotonous and are working on developing new mechanics and bringing them into the game as soon as possible. Furthermore, you now receive more rare materials, partly from the “Encrypted Vaults” and partly from elite enemies in missions and dungeons.
The patch also includes technical optimizations and a reduction in GPU memory requirements, as well as a number of bug fixes. The developers also made a statement on the criticism of some players regarding the drop rates of items:
“We are aware that many Descendants will have various discussions about drop rates now that they are starting to farm in earnest. There is no variable drop rate system in The First Descendant. We use the fixed rates displayed in the game. The development team has checked the rates on all servers and confirmed that drops are falling according to the values displayed. We are currently working on various measures to ensure that the community can trust the development team, such as disclosing the item drop rates for each piece of content. We are also preparing ways to improve the farming experience.”
