A new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 offers a first look at the gameplay of the next DLC fighter Takeda Takahashi.
Warner Bros. Games releases a new Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay trailer featuring Takeda Takahashi, the newest downloadable DLC fighter.
Takeda Takahashi will be playable in Early Access for Kombat Pack owners starting July 23rd and will be available nationwide for all players starting July 30th.
Additionally, Ferra, a new DLC Kameo fighter who can use a variety of support techniques during her battles, will be available to Kombat Pack owners and as a standalone purchase on July 23.
Much like his cousin Kenshi, Takeda Takahashi was raised by a Yakuza. But unlike his cousin, Takeda enjoyed this way of life and was therefore chosen to end Kenshi’s crusade against his masters.
Their duel ended with a serious wound for Takeda. Since he did not want to let his cousin die, Kenshi immediately took him to the nearest possible place: the Shirai Ryu.
However, even after Takeda had fully recovered, Kenshi did not let him go. He feared that the Yakuza would seek Takeda’s life for failing in his mission. Takeda defied him and tried to escape several times. However, after many months had passed, he began to appreciate the Shirai Ryu’s selfless commitment to Earthrealm, which was a stark contrast to his previous life.
Takeda vowed to tackle the Earthrealm’s underworld at its roots – but quickly discovered that it was more robust and tangled than he ever imagined. The new video offers an in-depth look at Takeda’s skills, which were inspired by the Shirai Ryu: Among other things, he uses serrated whips to pull his enemies in or throw them away, explosive kunai to extend his combos and masterful teleportation skills to attack his enemies from behind.
Takeda and Ferra will also be featured on the Evolution Championship Series (Evo) a fighting game tournament taking place in Las Vegas from July 19-21. This opportunity is exclusive to tournament attendees and will be offered at the Mortal Kombat 1 booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center West Hall.
