Hello Games has delivered numerous comprehensive updates for the long-running sci-fi game No Man’s Sky – and now this series continues with “Worlds Part 1”.
No Man’s Sky, which was initially labelled a flop, has become a real hit and fan darling thanks to the numerous reworks by Hello Games – and the developers want it to stay that way. This is also why the next big update for the game is now available, version 5.0, with additional features and content.
The update, also known as “Worlds Part 1”, focuses on the world generation in the title – and that is one of the most important features of the game. After all, No Man’s Sky thrives like no other title on constantly finding new wonderful or strange planets. The new update is intended to make this experience even deeper and more interesting. Thanks to new technologies, the planetary biomes should feel much more immersive. For example, the water has also been reworked and can now display dynamic waves and reflections; ships can now also land on it.
Other improvements that are intended to have a lasting impact on the experience are improved clouds and weather effects – from fog to rain to blizzards. These events should fit seamlessly into the existing wind and cloud setups. Overall, the exploration aspect of the game should become more pleasant and interesting, although of course this does not fundamentally change the gameplay approach.
The update also includes the ability to customize solar ships – and there’s also a new expedition to discover. Those who complete it can earn insectoid armor and new combat upgrades for the Minotaur mech.
The name “Part 1” suggests that we will receive further world updates for No Man’s Sky in the future. But for now, you can watch the trailer for the current patch to get you in the mood.
