With the PS5 Pro giving rise to many rumors and wishes given its offering, it seems that it will become a little more sought after and ultimately not be released this year.
2024 is a rather quiet year for PlayStation and its fans, apart from a few good releases (like FF7 Rebirth). Everything indicated that this could change a lot by the end of the year, especially with the release of the much-hyped PS5 Pro. But unfortunately that would not be the case if we can believe a generally very well-informed insider who has shared a lot of information about Sony’s next console in the past that turned out to be correct.
The PS5 Pro is still in high demand
While the PS5 was launched in 2020, we have been hearing about the PS5 Pro for years. An improved version of Sony’s new generation console on paper, on all levels. More efficient technical sheet, DLSS equivalent technology, all for games that can basically run smoothly in 4K. However, all this has only been the subject of leaks and rumors, such as the last possible release window so far, possibly for the end of the holidays in 2024.
However, those who prefer to wait for the PS5 Pro before switching to this generation of Sony consoles may be disappointed. This is at least the opinion of the well-known Tom Henderson, to whom he owes many very well-documented reports on the latter. A user on X.com actually asked him if September was a possible month for the release. To this, the initiator of Insider Gaming replied: ” If things go well this year! ».
The man thus seems to be expressing serious doubts about a PS5 Pro release this year, which are probably confirmed by his own sources. Other possible speculations about the release date suggest that Sony is wisely waiting for the release of a game that could justify a more powerful console. Among the most obvious candidates, we have a highly anticipated little game: GTA 6. Rockstar Games’ next game, based on the RAGE 9 engine and scheduled for 2025 for now only for PS5 and Xbox Series, could justify a more technically demanding hand to take full advantage of it. However, all this is just speculation for now, awaiting a corresponding announcement from Sony in due course.
