Fans of the Dune universe are about to be treated to a treat at HBO, as the series set in the Frank Herbert universe has a fascinating new trailer ready for release in November.
After the brilliant Dune 2, HBO invites us to explore a time long before the birth of Lisan al Gaïb in a new series called Prohecy, due on Max in November. Even if Paul Atreides and his battle with the Fremen on Arrakis will not be the focus of the plot, we will witness the beginnings of the plan that will ultimately constitute his extraordinary destiny. See it all with this new trailer.
“The Prophecy of Dune” coming soon to HBO Max
Announced last May, Dune Prohecy has made the ambitious decision to tell us a story set 10,000 years before the original books that inspired the films by David Lynch and Denis Villeneuve. Even though the series is set so many years ago, it will serve as a prequel to the unique destiny of Paul Atreides. In fact, it will be dedicated to the origins of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood. More specifically, we will accompany the sisters Valya and Tula Harkonnen in their struggle to establish this oh-so-important order in the mythical science fiction universe.
Dune Prohecy counts Alison Schapker (Lost) as director. There is a pretty nice cast, including Emily Watson and Olivia Williams in the two main roles. Other well-known actors such as Jodhi May (The Witcher) or Travis Fimmel (Vikings) will take on the roles. The series will be released on HBO Max next November, so we don’t have to wait long for the final result after a trailer was shown below that whets the appetite for more.
However, it will be necessary to arm oneself with a shield of patience when it comes to Dune 3, which is set to adapt Frank Herbert’s book Messiah and thus continue the arc of Paul Atréides, still with Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya as headliners. The latest news says that it will not be released before the end of 2026. The sandy beaches of Arrakis may therefore only be temporarily disturbed by the wind.
