Gamescom will take place in Germany next month and while Nintendo won’t be attending the event, it looks like The Pokémon Company will appear as one of the “highlights” between August 21 – 25, 2024.

Along with Pokémon, some other companies mentioned include Sony, Square Enix, THQ Nordic, Ubisoft and Xbox. More Gamescom publishes on social networks list of companies such as Amazon Games, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Blizzard, Capcom, 2K, SEGA, Electronic Arts and many other big names, so it looks like it’s going to be an action-packed event.

A spokesperson previously mentioned in April that Nintendo would not be attending this year’s event. This was followed in May by official confirmation that the Switch’s “successor” announcement would be made within this fiscal year.

Nintendo also this week revealed an official Joy-Con charging stand for the Switch seven years into the system’s life cycle. As for The Pokémon Company and its main series of games, Game Freak is currently hard at work on Pokémon Legends: ZA which was revealed earlier this year in February and is set to launch on Switch in in 2025.
