Star Wars Outlaws has fallen victim to a wave of criticism that has prompted Ubisoft to speak out. The publisher responded and made the final decision to end the debate once and for all.
Ubisoft is a publisher that is as popular as it is criticized. It is often singled out for not taking risks, for example. Players are now leaving little room for error and it is also difficult to please as many people as possible. This is when we feel anger that is sometimes justified but often a little exaggerated. Recently, Assassin’s Creed Shadows has taken a beating and it continues to be a do-or-die, it is a sad watch. Now it is Star Wars Outlaws’ turn to take the pressure, as players are not finding the game very nice and, what is even worse for some, it should not be released as it is.
Star Wars Outlaws is heavily criticized by players
From the moment it was presented, Star Wars Outlaws was both exciting and chilling. Some of the players seem to be visibly delighted to see the Star Wars license in a different genre and, above all, from a completely new perspective, that of an outlaw. Others, however, are more mixed or even downright negative. There is a lot of criticism, especially about the graphics.
Not long ago, IGN shared about ten minutes of gameplay and everything went up in flames. Stuttering, the graphics are clearly not up to scratch, the visual effects are off… the negative comments have multiplied, the video even has more d islikes than likes, which means that the response is rather poor. IGN also clarified under the video that there was obviously a problem and that the launch did not happen with the best possible quality. But nothing works, the players are not convinced.
Ubisoft has spoken out and given a clear and unambiguous answer
Numerous reactions, which also caused a lot of discussion in the Ubisoft offices. So much so that the question of a postponement was raised. It is during a conference with shareholders that the company had to explain itself. Ubi was asked to comment on the recent negative feedback. Ubisoft’s finance director then calmed down by confirming that Star Wars Outlaws is a dense and detailed open world and that “The quality level of the universe and the experience is really very high”.
He adds that we should also see more content soon that will prove that the game is successful “very high quality” and that we can get a glimpse of “the depth of the open world, a key element of the promise of being able to explore a multi-planet galaxy.”
In addition, the finance director denied the question of whether the game would be postponed for polishing. Ubisoft has made its decision, “The game is gold, so the August 30th date is confirmed.”emphasized the Ubisoft representative.
It is therefore confirmed, Star Wars Outlaws will be released on PS5, Xbox Series and PC in a few weeks. No postponements or delays are expected. Now we wait a little longer, as Ubisoft’s financial director clarified, we should see more soon, closer to the release. Let’s wait and see.
