The Witcher 3 is in better shape than ever, with many new free features appearing that we might never have gotten again, like this one.
Nine years after its release, we are gradually becoming more aware that CD Projekt RED had crazy plans for its masterpiece The Witcher 3, many of which were unfortunately abandoned. But without counting on the passionate modders who restored them thanks to the invaluable support of the REDKit tool. It is precisely such functionality that interests us here.
Another abandoned concept from The Witcher 3 resurfaces
Not long ago, we learned in particular about the revival of a reputation and morality system thanks to a mod. This was considered by CD Projekt RED for The Witcher 3 before being unfortunately abandoned. New mod and in this sense, a new archaeological discovery. While browsing the game files, MerseyRockoff discovered a complete script that perhaps would never have seen the light of day.
Baptized sober Boat Race
- Novigrad Race – start at the notice board in the port of Novigrad.
- Oxenfurt Race – start at the Oxenfurt notice board.
- Helmsman Rush – Start is at the notice board in the village of Kaer Trolde.
- Wreck Rally – Start is at the notice board in Holmstein, but the races take place in the Faroe Islands.
To make his mod as accessible as possible, MerseyRockoff even made his mod compatible with both the original version of The Witcher 3 and the next-gen version. It’s also very easy to install. All you have to do is copy the “modBoatRaces” folder and place it in the “\mods” folder of the game. The same process applies to the “dlcBoatRaces” folder. Then it’s your turn to enjoy boat racing in The Witcher 3. To get a better idea, check out the video below for some gameplay sequences from this mod.
