Bad news for the next iPhone and the highly anticipated features of iOS 18: Nothing seems to be going as planned. We’ll explain everything to you.
Artificial intelligence is a big part of the future of technology, especially in mobile, which is no surprise. The promises from Apple and its next generation of iPhones were great, with the introduction of AI in the next version of iOS. However, nothing seems to be going as planned.
Bad news for iOS 18 and iPhone 16
Apple’s new artificial intelligence features will not be available at the initial launch of iOS 18, scheduled for September. According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple now plans to introduce Apple Intelligence in October, a month later than expected. Too bad for the iPhone 16.
Sources familiar with the matter indicate that these AI features will be available a few weeks after the release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. Software developers can test Apple Intelligence starting this week through the betas of iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1.
It also seems that some of Siri’s advanced features will be missing in this delayed version, with full deployment now scheduled for 2025. This situation could represent a slight setback for the company, which had raised high expectations for these new features since their official announcement during the Worldwide Developers Conference. So far, Apple has not commented on the information reported by Bloomberg.
What addition with artificial intelligence?
Apple Intelligence is described as a personal intelligence system and is integrated into several Apple platforms, including the iPhone 16. The new features include tools for writing. They allow you to shorten and summarize group discussion threads and find the right words when writing messages and emails thanks to the “Smart Reply” function.
Priority notifications will also be implemented, allowing users to select what is most important to them and have that information at the top of their list, summarized with essential items highlighted.
Apple will also introduce an image generation tool called Genmoji. This tool will allow users to sketch what they want and receive an AI-generated image. Siri will also be completely redesigned with a new design that better fits into the user experience.
