With Rush, EA Sports FC 25 is getting a new game mode – and EA Sports has now presented it in more detail.
EA Sports has released another deep dive video for EA Sports FC 25, in which it goes into detail about the new game mode Rush. This is a first in this year’s football title.
Rush is a new 5v5 game mode that is played on a smaller playing field; it replaces the departing Volta game mode from the last games and builds on it with extensions.
Rush mode will now be available in Ultimate Team, Clubs, Manager Career and the standard Kickoff modes. The game is played on a field that is around 41.5 percent of the traditional 11v11 pitch size. To be precise, the Rush pitch is 63.7 by 46.6 meters. The mode is intended to encourage lateral passes without gamers finding themselves on a field that is too narrow.
A rush game lasts seven minutes, excluding halftime. The clock stops when the ball leaves the field. In the event of a tie, there is a 2:20 golden goal overtime period. If the game is still tied, there is a penalty shootout to find a winner. The offside rules are also adapted and are more like those in hockey; it is about the positioning of a player in front of the attacking zone. If the ball and the player are in the attacking zone, the regular offside rules of football come into effect.
Other rules in Rush mode: There are four camera angles, free kicks are always taken indirectly and corners and throw-ins are taken by the closest player.
