Sending documents between iOS and Android has always been a problem for some users and WhatsApp seems to have decided to solve the problem with the new nearby sharing feature which develops so that we can share files easily and without the need for internet taking advantage of the wireless capabilities of our devices.

WhatsApp’s Nearby Share feature (also known as Quick Share in the Android version) This has already been seen in the iOS beta (in the Android version, this was already spotted in April) so it is in full development for Apple devices and everything seems to indicate that the implementation will vary from what was seen in the Android version. While the function on Android allows sending files, photos and others that the user has on his device to another WhatsApp user who has his terminal nearby, On iOS, it seems that it will be via a QR that would initiate the connection between the devices.

The implementation on the iOS side, thanks to QR, adds a layer of security to file sharing, so that they cannot be sent “by mistake” to other nearby devices.

For now, Nearby Share is being tested for a very limited internal WhatsApp groupHowever, we can hope that in the not too distant future, all iOS users will be able to enjoy this new feature that will allow you to exchange files up to 2 GB via Bluetoothor at least that’s how it’s implemented in the Android version.
