Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has been working on collecting a lot of player feedback in recent months, whether it’s bugs that need fixing or improvements the community would like to see. The most recent feedback was initiated by CEO Shams Jorjani, who took to Reddit to collect some ideas on how people would like resources to be better tied to progression.
In a post on the game’s subreddit (thanks, GamesRadar), Jorjani (username BigKahuna_AGS) outlined that, with the game’s designers’ permission, he’s looking for some player feedback. What’s the problem? How can the resources earned from completing missions (medals, samples, requisitions, etc.) support long-term development?

“Many of us (let’s face it, you guys) have hit the cap, are sitting on piles of digital gold (gold Jerry, gold!), and want to patriotically use that gold to advance the war cause (i.e. more fun ways to make progress). So I’m here to hear your best ideas,” he wrote.
“We have our own designs and ideas, but we’d love to hear from you too,” Jorjani continued. “In due time we’ll probably formalize how to ask for feedback via a proper survey, but for now I’m just a humble nerd asking for your help. Reddit is a great alternative as it allows the best ideas to surface (hopefully).
“So please give us some interesting ideas on how to use resources (existing or new) for long-term development without violating the overall design of the game (*waves hands vaguely*). We still intend to do livestreams/vlogs in the future, and a follow-up to this thread might be an interesting topic.”
The CEO then briefly added a disclaimer, saying the post should not be read as “a promise or implication that things can or will change, or that your idea will be adopted,” but rather as “a friendly conversation.” Oh, and apparently the team rejected poor Jorjani’s tongue-in-cheek suggestion to “just copy the Goldeneye64 mod as a fun addition to unlocking the mission.”
As of this writing, the thread is already full of ideas from hardcore Super Soldier fans. Seriously, the current comments suggest no fewer than four different ways to use excess resources, from converting them into something players lack, to creating a community resource pool that players can contribute to in order to influence galactic warfare – such as by funding defenses to make affected planets easier to defend.
Would you like to see any of the above implemented in Hellraiser 2? Or do you have your own ideas for using resources? Let us know below, and be sure to check out what the game’s next War Bond will include if you haven’t already!
