Mike Mignola’s hellboy will soon be back in cinemas. Not Ron Perlman or David Harbour, but now with Jack Kesy (Death Wish, Baywatch) in the lead role. This time it’s supposed to be really scary, as the new trailer for the film by director Brian Taylor (Crank, Happy!) promises. The Crooked Man is an adaptation of a short story by Mike Mignola (who is personally involved in the script and production of the film), which is pretty dark. This is of course anything but surprising by Hellboy standards. And despite the major criticism of the look and atmosphere of the film, I’m really looking forward to Hellboy: The Crooked Man. You can read exactly why in my detailed column on the subject. Hellboy: The Crooked Man is scheduled to hit cinemas sometime in 2024 – when exactly is currently unknown.
