Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Remastered announced for Nintendo Switch

Type Moon has confirmed the development of a Fate/Hollow Ataraxia remaster for Switch. The Fate/Stay Night sequel, like its predecessor, was previously unreleased in the West and is getting a remaster based on its PS Vita version.

The PS Vita version of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia added full voice acting, two opening cinematics from animation studio Ufotable, and censored some of the adult content from the original PC release.

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia takes place approximately 8 months after the events of Fate/Stay Night and follows Shirou Emiya and Bazett Fraga McRemitz as they find themselves trapped in a time loop and searching for an end to their endless days. Although often considered a sequel, it does not directly follow a specific ending or route from Fate/Stay Night, instead presenting a mix of different routes and endings and putting a spin on the story of the Fifth Holy Grail War.

There is no additional information about the remaster yet, but for now readers can watch its announcement trailer below.

And, as always, we’ll be sure to keep you posted as more Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Remastered news comes our way. Until then, fans of the series can look forward to next week’s release of Fate/Stay Night Remastered, which fleshes out what is widely considered one of the most influential and well-received visual novels of all time.
