If you’ve played Hellraiser 2, and you’re one of the many people interested in helping the community avoid getting some new anti-tank mines for memetic reasons, I have bad news. It looks like Arrowhead has finally seen through your game and issued a major order to make sure you get them.
For those who aren’t in the know, Hellraiser 2’s anti-tank mines have become something of a joke, and have basically been running a marathon so far. Arrowhead first proposed the poor explosive device as an alternative to the rocket launcher back in April, but it failed, and they’ve failed to add it to the game multiple times since then – including some Super Earth kids who need saving.

Now it appears Arrowhead has had enough of the community’s abuse of the mines and has enacted a major order designed to ensure they are finally deployed in players’ inventories before the Free Level Up update arrives on August 6.
“High Command has ordered an effectiveness evaluation of currently available mine strategies,” the latest MO brief reads. “For the purpose of this evaluation, Hellstalkers are ordered to kill or destroy a certain number of enemy targets aboard Liberty. If the target number is not achieved, High Command is to specifically authorize the emergency addition of anti-tank mines to the Hellstalker inventory.”
“If the target number of enemies are eliminated, the currently available mine stratagems will be deemed sufficient and no additional mine stratagems will be authorized at this time.”
What’s the target number, you might ask? 1.5 billion, and the task is to take out all enemies currently on offer, not specific exploits or bots. Still, it seems like the gaming community is finally hitting the kill target.
As of this writing, with approximately 716 million enemies slaughtered since MO’s release on August 2, players have completed 47% of the required total with just over a day left on the order. So it’s not impossible, but unless there’s a massive late-game rally, Super Earth will surely fail in this operation, ultimately forcing them to use anti-tank mines.
To be fair, this certainly isn’t the first time the Hellraiser 2 community has delayed progress.
