One of the biggest attractions of the Android operating system is that it allows us to completely customize our mobile. This is true both in the version action or purer Android, as in the customization layers used by different manufacturers, and One UI, Samsung’s version of Android, is no exception.
One UI allows us to use gestures to control almost everything we do with the mobile, we can also customize notifications and much more, including additional functions for those who have a mobile with S Pen. In addition, One UI hides additional functions to customize important aspects of our phones, which allow us to take more ownership of the experience
How to Change the Default Home Screen on a Samsung Galaxy
Android phones allow us to modify many features of the interface and in general what we see on the home screen. It is possible to change the size of the application icons, add widgets, change the font used by the interface, modify the color palette and even completely change the icons of others that we download on the mobile.
But in addition to being able to change the wallpaper and organize the applications as we want on the desktop, Android offers us several desktops on which we can distribute the applications and widgets we want. By default, The main home screen is the first from left to rightalthough in reality there is an additional screen dedicated to showing us the news and information that interests us.
If you don’t want the first desktop from left to right to be the main home screen, It is possible to change it, and in fact, it is very simple.just pay attention to a button that appears when editing the mobile desktop.
If we hold our finger on the home screen, we can access the home screen editing options in One UI, including the “Wallpaper and style”, “Themes”, “Widgets” and “Settings” options. Among these options we also find a trash can icon to delete desktops, and above all, a house-shaped button. This button allows you to configure the desktop screen we are on as the main home screen.
This allows us to add more customization and make the interface more unique. In my case, I have set the “central” desktop as the main desktop. On the right I have all the applications and shortcuts related to my work, and on the left I have my streaming, music and gaming applications. This way I can access the applications and widgets I need more quickly, without having to scroll through several screens. It is a simple but very useful change to personalize the mobile.
