SONY reports 61 million PlayStation 5 consoles sold, but hardware sales fell in the first quarter.

In the first quarter, SONY sold 2.4 million PlayStation 5 units. However, compared to the 3.3 million sold in the same period last year, this is a significant decline.

In the Games & Network Services segment, revenue increased 12% year-over-year in the first quarter. Operating profit increased 32% from $335 million to $443 million.
The company reported 56.5 million software sales last year. With 53.6 million units in the first quarter, these have also fallen.
