Android veterans will surely remember its catchy name, AirDroid. The app isn’t as popular today as it once was, but that doesn’t mean it’s still as magical. In fact, nearly 15 years after its creation, AirDroid still works perfectly.
AirDroid has arrived for act as a bridge between our Android phones and PCssomething that remains a challenge after all these years. Despite new initiatives from Microsoft and some additional efforts from Google, Android and Windows or Mac get along so well, but AirDroid is here to reconcile them.
Android to PC Airbridge
Long before your Windows Phone existed, in the era of Android Icecream Sandwich, AirDroid was born as a magical way to control your mobile from the official app or websitebeing able to transfer files, view contacts or write SMS from the comfort of your PC.
At that time, “companion” applications like Samsung Kies were still fashionable, to manage mobile phones from your PC (and make backups or restore them), even if each brand had one and it was normally necessary to connect them by cable. The advantage of AirDroid was that it worked over the Internet, without cables.and it worked on almost all Android mobiles.
Over time, the number of things that can be done with AirDroid has grown, although some of them are now reserved for those who pay a subscription. That is everything you can do with AirDroid:

And all this still exists today, although the years do not pass in vain for anyone, not even for mobile applications. AirDroid continues to be updated (the last time was in May) and still works as well as ever.

Of course, over time, Android has protected various aspects of system security to prevent abuse by spy apps. Initial setup requires a few extra steps and mirroring forces us to start recording manually on the mobile, instead of doing it automatically like ten years ago, but that’s the small cost of progress.
It is true that today You have more options to manage your mobile from your PC. Microsoft’s Mobile Link option shows off some very interesting options like using your phone as a webcam on Windows, but for more mundane things like viewing photos, contacts, text messages, or files on your phone, AirDroid is even more robust. And that’s not to say it’ll also work on Mac or anywhere else you have a modern web browser.
