Over the past few weeks, we’ve learned about Capcom and Xbox’s plans for Gamescom 2024. Now, Sega — another of the industry’s giants in the land of the rising sun — has announced what they’ll be bringing to the most important video game fair on the old continent.
Sega has revealed that they will only be bringing three games to Gamescom 2024. Two of them, Sonic X Shadow Generations y Metaphor: ReFantazio— will be present with demonstrations for the public for the first time in Europe. The Japanese developer has highlighted that at its Gamescom 2024 booth, they will have experiences of these games for the public. Additionally, the third game that is in Sega’s plans for Gamescom 2024 is a mystery. Since Sega revealed that this title is unreleased for the public and that therefore it will debut at Gamescom 2024.
At the moment it is unknown what the third game that is in Sega’s plans for Gamescom 2024 could be. However, last week we learned that Sega registered the trademark Yakuza Warswhich until now we think is a new Like a Dragonon July 26, 2024. So it is very likely that this will be the third game that Sega will bring to Gamescom 2024. However, since nothing is set in stone it could be another game. Let us remember that Sega is developing games of emblematic franchises from the time when they were Nintendo’s competition. So it may be that we meet the new Jet Set Radio which has been the talk of the town for the past year.
Sonic X Shadow Generations is an updated version of the 2011 platformer Sonic Generations, and is set to release on October 25 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
