Dead by Daylight has been part of the Olympus of asymmetrical multiplayer games for eight years now. This is not least due to the absurd number of collaborations that Beahviour Interactive has landed. But the current hype has nothing to do with a special character, but rather with a time-limited game mode.
One factor is irrefutably burned into the source code of Dead by Daylight: the matches are always one against four. Killers against survivors, mass murderers against teenagers, a typical setting of classic slasher films.

But even if the gameplay makes sense and works incredibly well, the community has been demanding some variety for a while. After all, the murderers are always so alone, so a two-on-eight mode would be an obvious choice, right?
Behaviour Interactive recently fulfilled this wish. The variant was launched on July 25, 2024, and you will be playing on classic maps that have been expanded by the developers to support the increased number of characters.
Actually, everything is fine for fans of Dead by Daylight. However, there is a damper, because the two-on-eight mode was only supposed to remain online until August 8, 2024. But fortunately, the studio has deviated from this plan.
The reasoning is as pleasing as it is obvious: “Your reactions to 2v8 over the last two weeks have blown us away, and we’ve heard your demands loud and clear to keep the game mode running.” Accordingly, you now have one more week; on August 15, 2024, Behaviour Interactive will most likely take the two-on-eight variant offline for good.
