Do you remember Thatcher’s tech base? doom A mod that lets you kill the late former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, whose actions in office made her more hated by the working class than the many Conservatives who have followed in her footsteps since the 1980s? Now, the mod is playable on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
If this is the first time you’ve heard of Thatcher’s Techbase, first of all, where have you been? Oh, and secondly, it basically turns the classic shooter into a battle against the demonic forces of robot Thatcher, complete with enough Union Jacks to convince you you’re in a hellish dystopia.

Now, thanks to Bethesda and Id Software just releasing DOOM + DOOM II, the “ultimate enhanced edition” of both classic games that comes with “online cross-platform deathmatch and co-op play for up to 16 players” and “support for community-published single-player mods,” you can kill Thatcher on modern consoles via the in-game mod browser.
“Great news everyone! Thatcher’s Techbase is now available to download and play in the new official DOOM + DOOM II ports that released yesterday,” tweeted Jim Purvis, the mod’s creator, who initially thought this would allow it to run on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

The good news is that for these platforms, Purvis is also offering an Arcade version of the mod so that “if you want to play the updated version from 2022, which includes all the balance changes, new boss fights, and an improved storyline,” he said. “If you want to challenge Jeremy, this is the version you want to install. [Corbyn]world record time,” he said, adding that this meant he would face a tough challenge.
