When we talk about carrying out procedures from our Android mobile, there is an essential element: the digital certificate. It is a universal key to access the administration services and it is important to know that our DNI includes one. This facilitates access to Android applications such as My Citizen Folder. But the mobile phone can also be used to request the digital certificate: the FNMT application allows it.
Now, although having it on our Android phone is essential to carry out certain procedures, it never hurts to share it with other devices where we may need it. It is very simple with the method that we explain: in this way you can export the digital certificate from the FNMT mobile application.
First condition: have a valid digital certificate
To begin with, it is necessary to meet some requirements to fulfill our goal of exporting the Android digital certificate to other devices, such as a tablet, a PC or our smartwatch with Wear OS. First of all, it may seem obvious, but you may not know it: we start with the “FNMT Digital Certificate” application: it is available on the Play Store.
From the new application, you must have requested your digital certificate in one of the available ways. Whether by making an appointment in person or by the online method, you will have it registered in this application. It must be correctly installed on our Android mobile, and it is advisable to verify that it works completely before performing other tasks with it.
Access the section called “My installed certificates” from the initial screen of the application. If you see your certificate here, everything will be in order and you will be able to export it in a very simple way that we explain below. In a few minutes you will be able to share it with any of your devices, regardless of the operating system.
How to export digital certificate from your Android
When we are faced with procedures with the Administration such as filing the income tax return, requesting a medical appointment or accessing the “MiDGT”, we need a digital certificate
These types of procedures and processes can be done from your mobile phone without any problem. However, for some more complex declarations, such as the tax return itself, it seems more comfortable to do it from a larger screen and a physical keyboard. There is no drama: there will be our computer or laptop to make it simpler.
Of course, maybe we put our hand on our head when we remember that our digital certificate is on our smartphone. Now you can download them because it is very easy to transfer the FNMT certificate to any other device. We explain it to you:
- Open the “FNMT Digital Certificate” application on your Android mobile.
- On the Home screen, tap “My Installed Certificates”.
- Tap a valid digital certificate (it should be marked “Active”).
- While entering the certificate details, press the “Share Backup” button.
- Then you need to enter the digital certificate password several times to verify that you are doing it yourself.
- The system sharing options will be displayed. You can export it anywhere: as a file in the internal memory or directly to applications that connect to the cloud (ideal to never lose it). It is also possible to share the digital certificate via WhatsApp or Telegram.
As we have seen, the procedure is extremely simple. When we have shared it and it is on our computer, all that remains is to install it: you will have to go to your browser settings to add it, although in a few clicks in Windows it will be imported without complications. An important warning that you probably know, but it does not hurt to remember: don’t forget your passwordyou have to enter it every time you install it on a new device.
