Fallout: London has been so well received by fans, it sounds like the team behind that game wants to come together and make their own game.

After a long wait, the much-anticipated mod Fallout: London finally released last month, and it’s been met with great reviews so far, including from our own Mark, who reviewed the DLC-sized mod and gave it four out of five stars. Of course, while there are still bugs to deal with and more content to come, the Fallout: London team has plans beyond this massive mod. Dean Carter, the mod’s project lead, recently spoke with the BBC about the project’s aftermath, discussing how the team felt about releasing the mod and what they’re planning next (thanks, PCGamesN). Notably, Carter said they’re “hopeful” to move on from creating their own independent studio so they can pay the bills.

“As much as I love the fact that this is a free program — and we can offer it to the entire community for free — it doesn’t pay our bills,” Carter explained. He continued, “What’s great for us is that a lot of the people who really enjoy it [Fallout: London] A donation has been made to us, and we’re going to transfer that money to Team Folon, and that’s where we’re going to come in. We want to start our own indie game company so we can come up with our own ideas, make our own games, and just work… without having to talk to higher-ups like Bethesda.

“It’s completely our own game, and we can make a game that we want, a game that we think the community will enjoy. Fallout: London is a great springboard for us to do that.”

Carter also reiterated that Fallout: London will “contain all the content that we cut for launch. We have another ending that we call the ‘everything ending’ – it will come in a future patch. It won’t happen anytime soon; we can see ourselves working on it until the end of the year.”

Mark also recently spoke to Carter about one of the modding community’s biggest issues – paid mods, which you can read about here .
