Rockstar Games and Take-Two manage to keep an officially abandoned Red Dead Redemption game alive. There won’t be any major expansions, but some content will be available for free.
You can look forward to the holidays for GTA 6. The game has confirmed its release in fall 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The information is really official, as it was announced by Take-Two during the first quarter of fiscal 2025 results. During this call with investors, Rockstar Games’ parent company also announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold 2 million more units. That’s a total of 65 million copies for this sequel alone, while the license reached 91 million plays.
Take Two Interactive makes an announcement for virtual cowboys
Take Two Interactive said in its financial report that they were satisfied with GTA Online and even Red Dead Redemption 2 who was voluntarily arrested back in 2022. The company has made it clear: there is no point in hoping that developers will work on major DLCs or even expansions, it’s over. However, some of the Rockstar teams keep the cowboy multiplayer mode alive with events, double XP sessions, etc. And Take Two is so happy that this kind of free content continues to be offered every month. It’s not easy to eat and it’s obviously enough to keep a player base.

Any collector who manages to acquire three collectibles can receive rewards in Red Dead Online.
- 30 July to 5 August 2024 : 3 explosive arrows and 20 incendiary bullets for the shotgun

- 13 to 19 August 2024 : the treasure map of Bluewater Marsh

After successfully completing daily challenges for three consecutive days, Red Dead Online players can receive a Black Macbay Jacket, a Fossil, and a Wildflowers of America Trading Card. Additional rewards to revamp your wardrobe will also be handed out, provided you give something of yourself.

Clothing items such as the Griffith Leggings, Raised Skirt, Prieto Poncho, Archer Boots, Charro Jacket, and Chambliss Corset are back in stores until September 2. Finally, a community-inspired outfit, “Jungle Explorer,” is available.
