Stand up camper Readers, and cheers! It’s Monday again and like every start of the week we report on all the new releases of SVOD services, starting with Netflix. In the last few hours the platform has ended one of its most important series. In fact, from now on you can watch the fourth season of “Umbrella Academy”. And you can enjoy every episode, since the superhero family will not return. The company has even canceled a spin-off announced for 2023.

This week’s Netflix releases might appeal to fans of big cars and action movies that don’t really aim for realism. Dominic Toretto and the whole family conquer the video streaming platform with Fast & Furious, along with Charlize Theron and Brie Larson (The Marvels). To stay in the plot, Netflix has offered the services of Mark Walhlberg and Halle Berry for a new exclusive production The Union.
In this Netflix film, a simple working man becomes a secret agent overnight to find a stolen list of American spies. “New Jersey construction worker Mike (Mark Wahlberg) is thrust into the world of espionage and secret agents when his former high school girlfriend Roxanne (Halle Berry) recruits him for a crucial intelligence mission.” (official synopsis). Other new Netflix releases for week 33 include French comedy Les Crevettes pailletées, Jeanne du Barry and documentary Daughters.

A monumental series appears in the new Netflix releases from August 12 to 18, 2024. After adding the complete Mad Men, the SVOD service draws on a classic from the small screen LOST: The Disappeared. One of the most talked about TV shows due to its plot and all the mysteries that emerge as the seasons go by. After a plane crash, passengers must learn to live together to survive on the island where they are stranded. And it is not a completely peaceful place where mojitos are served…
The other big highlight this week on Netflix is Emily’s return to Paris with part 1 of season 4. Now that the Olympics are over, the young woman can take possession of the place again. What plot for these new episodes? The ties between Emily and Gabriel will be at the heart of the plot after the end of season 3. Will they end up together? Nothing is less certain, but there may be the beginning of an answer from August 15 on Netflix.
