Disney has released the trailer for one of its most anticipated films, but unfortunately this one tends to be completely divisive. We explain why.
Disney’s next live-action film, Snow Whiteis revealed through a new trailer that highlights Rachel Zegler in the role of the legendary princess and Gal Gadot in that of the evil queen. Presented to the public during the D23 event, the two actresses expressed their enthusiasm for the idea of reviving this Disney classic. Despite everything, the trailer is divisive.
A modern reinterpretation of the classic Disney story
Directed by Marc Webb, this remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs promises a contemporary reinterpretation of the original 1937 animated film. The story stays true to the basic plot. Where Snow White, fleeing her stepmother’s murderous jealousy, finds refuge with seven dwarfs before she is poisoned by an apple. However, this new version introduces more modern elements. The focus is on Snow White’s independence and leadership rather than the traditional search for true love.
Rachel Zegler takes on the role of Snow White, a role that she believes will resonate with younger generations. She stressed that her character will not only dream of Prince Charming, but will strive to become a brave and just leader as a tribute to her late father.

For Gal Gadot, playing the role of the Evil Queen was an enriching experience and completely different from her previous roles. The actress expressed her joy at being able to play such an evil and complex character, a role that allowed her to explore a side that was completely opposite to what she had done so far. Also, note that the trailer is very controversial, especially due to the use of 3D to represent dwarves. Just read the comments on the video to see for yourself:
Great actors with dwarfism : “We want to work and appear on the screen. »
Disney : “No, we have to protect you from yourself.”
Disney has also been accused of making people with dwarfism invisible and of using 3D stunt doubles rather than real actors who suffer from the condition. Dylan Postl in particular stated that he does not understand Disney’s position.
Originally scheduled for March 2024, the film’s release was pushed back to March 2025 due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. This extra wait has only increased the impatience of fans, who can now look forward to this first look at the film through the recently unveiled trailer.
