In a rather notable protest, Hellraiser 2 players continue to bring the game’s robots closer and closer to Super-Earth in the game’s galactic war. It seems that part of the fun for players at this point is trying to imagine how Arrowhead and Game Master JOEL would react if the battle actually reached the Hellraiser’s home planet.

As we reported yesterday, it’s the revolt of players over some nerfs to fire damage in the Freedom Upgrade update, and the resulting discussion about whether Arrowhead was headed in the right direction in terms of tuning. I say revolt because it looks like the community is still on track to finish the game’s latest major order.

As of this writing, although the robotic frontier is not too far from a super-Earth, and the planet Curia, currently the closest world to a super-Earth, seems to have been abandoned by the metal gauntlet of the automated robots, the current prime order is still expected to succeed.

Yes, that’s right, the Helldivers community seems to be following instructions to liberate Troost and Vandalon IV, while trying to get the automatons to march directly to the most important planet. What would happen if the robots got there? Well, they have some theories too.

“I bet Arrowhead doesn’t have a working super-Earth biome ready,” one player wrote on a Reddit thread filled with members of this strange rebellion. “They might just stop pushing it, or do something else with the story.”

“I bet if they got to the super-Earth we’d see a splash screen saying it’s fallen,” wrote another player. “There’s no combat on the actual planet. The game isn’t meant for that kind of urban setting. If it was, we’d have seen something like that by now.”

This looks to be the biggest challenge yet for the infamous game master JOEL, to deliver a game that catches players off guard and upends the narrative of war. However, considering Arrowhead was able to capitalize on people’s meme-driven reluctance to fight over anti-tank mines, I think the studio will find a way to turn this protest into something that fits its conflict plans.

If a super-Earth does appear on the front line, what do you think will happen? Let us know below!
