Have you seen a picture on the internet and You don’t know if it’s real or if it was created using artificial intelligence? This has probably happened to you before, but now Google will help you find the answer with its “Circle to Search” tool, which with its latest update will be able to do even more.
Google has already introduced its new generation of smartphones, the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and these devices come with AI-powered features, among other things. But the company also will update “Circle to Search” with more functionswhich will be available first for the Pixel 9, but will not be exclusive: they will reach more Android phones.
Improved “Search Circle”: Here’s what you can do
The main new feature of this update of ‘Circle to search’ is related to artificial intelligence. In a world where images created using generative artificial intelligence are increasingly shared, Your mobile will now help you identify them using “Circle to search”.
When we use this tool, by circling the image we want to search for, we can access the “About this image” section after performing the search, and Google will analyze the context and background of the image to tell us if it was generated with artificial intelligence. If we don’t know if an image is real or made with AI, “Circle to Search” will help us find out.
Another feature that will come in the next update of ‘Circle to search’ is the ability to share the images or parts of the screen we want much faster. From this version, it will be enough to surround an object or a subject with a circle for the tool to detect it and allow it to be shared directly from the ‘Circle to search’ screen, thanks to a new button that will be located on the region of the screen that we have selected.
The new “Surround to Search” feature will arrive first on the Pixel 9, but will also be available for other devices in the future.
This new, even smarter version of Rodea for search will be available from next September on all phones in the Pixel 9 family. In principle, these functions will be exclusive to Google’s new smartphones, but the company assures that. In the future they will also be available for other devices which are compatible with “Surround to search”, so we can expect it to reach not only previous generations of Google Pixel, but also devices from other manufacturers.
