Have you been waiting for the release date of Blue Exorcist Season 4? Good news, Aniplex has finally announced the news, along with the ending theme for this season.
When Ao no Exorcist first aired over a decade ago, it was (unsurprisingly) far more popular than it is now. With season two airing in 2017, a full six years after season one, and season three airing another seven years later, in January of this year, the series has certainly lost a lot of momentum. It’s long been known that season four would thankfully not take that long to air, as October is the airing window, and earlier today Aniplex finally confirmed a specific airing date: October 5. The announcement of the date was accompanied by a short new trailer that sets up the season’s ending theme, which you can check out below.
The upcoming fourth season will be split into two seasons, with the first being The Legend of Snow and the second being The Legend of Blue Night. The second season will be available for streaming in January 2025, with Crunchyroll, the usual stop for most anime, providing the service. The ending theme is titled “Tsurara” and is sung by Yobahi, and you can hear parts of it in the trailer, and it sounds pretty moving to say the least.

If you’ve never heard of the series before, English manga publisher Viz Media describes the story: “Raised by renowned exorcist Father Fujimoto, Rin Okumura never knew his biological father. One day, a fateful argument with Father Fujimoto forces Rin to confront a horrifying truth – the blood of the demon lord Satan runs through Rin’s veins! Rin vows to defeat Satan, but doing so means attending the mysterious True Cross Academy and becoming an exorcist. Can Rin battle demons and keep his demonic bloodline a secret? It won’t be easy, especially since pulling out his father’s sword will unleash the demonic power within him!”
It’s unclear how many episodes the anime will have, but based on the air dates of both parts, it seems likely to be longer than the 12 episodes of season three (assuming there are no major interruptions).
