Game News This project is crazy: it wants to bring one of the greatest RPGs in the world back to life with the graphics of another timeless RPG video game
The developers of Skyblivion, a fan-made project that aims to recreate all of Oblivion in Skyrim, have finally released a first full gameplay video. And the least we can say is that this project is very promising.
A first quest revealed
After more than ten years of work, the developers of Skyblivion can finally release a first complete video that will introduce the core of the project. In fact, Skyblivion presents itself as a remastering of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with the Skyrim graphics engine. But it is clear that the game is much more beautiful than what TES V has to offer.
The video below allows us to return to the lands of Cyrodiil with improved graphics and interface from Skyrim. The quest presented here is called “The Fingers of the Mountain” and is a quest to be completed in the base game of the Mages Guild of Chorrol. The presentation of this quest therefore offers us a comprehensive overview: exploration, dialogues with NPCs, combat… everything is there and it is frankly tempting.
A soon release
Skyblivion is the result of a collaboration between more than 80 volunteer developers who decided to carry out this project over more than ten years. Skyblivion started in 2012 and took a new turn in 2016 with the remastered version of Skyrim. When released, the mod will be completely free, but you must first own Oblivion, Skyrim, as well as all the DLCs for both games. These two titles sell for a pittance today and are worth the investment, especially given the launch of this mod. Skyblivion presents itself as an experience faithful to the original game, with only a graphical overhaul of all the game’s elements. And its release is imminent: we’ll see you next year, in the best case, to enjoy Skyblivion in version 1.0. And if you want to contribute to the project, you can always apply at the official website
