Silent Hill fans don’t have to wait long until the remake of the popular second part of the series hits the (virtual) shelves. Developers Bloober Team and Konami are already showing in their new story trailer how faithful they will remain to the original.
The background music alone should make fans sit up and take notice. The track “Promise” is one of the most iconic riffs in gaming history and even in the new interpretation, the first plucked guitar sounds give you nostalgic goosebumps.
But the rest of the trailer might also seem familiar. The structure and content are based on the E3 trailer that was released for the original in 2001. The text, music, structure and content are strongly inspired by it and naturally invite comparison. A clever move by Bloober Team, who were recently accused of taking too much liberty with the models and clothing of some of the characters. The model of Angela and Maria’s new outfit in particular caused offence.
In the new trailer, we get our first look at the characters Mary and Eddie. They are so close to the original that no one should have anything to complain about this time. We also go to the hospital, the prison, the park and the hotel.
