This would certainly be great news for Super Mario fans. This comes after this year’s Super Mario Day announcements, the first Mario Day teasers and the confirmation of LEGO Mario Kart for 2025.
Now we have news from LEGO Ideas. This set recreates the classic Donkey Kong game featuring the titular villain and Pauline. We leave you with the details:
- The set, created by user “By If You Build It,” has surpassed 10,000 followers and has been approved for official review by LEGO.
- The review process will begin in September and may take several months to complete.
- While there are still some details that could be improved, it’s exciting that this Lego set based on the original DK could go into production.
- If approved, LEGO would refine the design to align with Nintendo’s original vision.
- Could include the existing Donkey Kong figure from the official Tree House expansion set.
- This is likely to become a reality, given that Nintendo is focusing on the Donkey Kong IP.
- Donkey Kong was added to the Super Mario Bros. movie, the Super Nintendo World theme park, and Donkey Kong Country Returns was revived in an HD version for the Switch.
