“Circle to search” arrived with the Samsung Galaxy S24 as part of Galaxy AI, Samsung’s portfolio of artificial intelligence-powered tools. Although “Circle to search” was initially reserved for these devices, shortly after, the feature started reaching other Android phoneslike the Google Pixel and many other Samsung Galaxy.
Among these phones, there was no Galaxy S21 FE, at least until now, since the latest One UI update brought the artificial intelligence function to this smartphone that debuted in 2022 as a slightly cheaper alternative among Samsung’s most premium phones, the Galaxy S line.
“Surround to search” arrives by surprise on the Galaxy S21 FE
Samsung’s artificial intelligence has been growing in recent months and has reached many of the company’s high-end models, including devices from generations released in previous years. These devices include: all Galaxy S23, all Galaxy S22 and almost all galaxy s21.
Almost everything, since the Galaxy S21 FE had remained without artificial intelligence functions, unlike the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21. Nevertheless, The latest OS update brought “Surround to Search” to the Galaxy S21 Fan Edition by surprise, when we thought it would not receive any artificial intelligence functions.

If you own a Galaxy S21 FE, you can now update your mobile with the latest security patch available for August. This update fixes several system crashes and minor bugs, but also adds AI-based features.
I never tire of saying it: “Circle to Search” is a really useful toolthe one I use almost every day, unlike most AI-based features available on the cell phones I have at hand. This feature allows you to long-press the navigation bar to perform intelligent searches on anything on the screen. In addition, this tool developed by Google has only improved since its debut, adding the possibility of instant text translations and can even identify songs in the style of Shazam.
Samsung has brought its AI features to more phones than many of us realize, as it not only brought “Surround to search” to the Galaxy S21 FE but also to mid-range phones like the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A34, among others.
