A very heavy film is finally available in Prime Video releases for the week of August 19-25, 2024. Consume without moderation and at high volume.
This week is a bit of a desert for SVOD platforms. With the exception of Netflix, which is only doing well by the number of new releases scheduled through Sunday, rival services like Disney+, Max and Prime Video are faltering. Either because there isn’t much new stuff, or because they don’t break three legs of a duck, or even both at the same time. So it’s not the best week for subscribers, but Amazon is trying to remedy this with the addition of this Thursday, August 22, 2024. One of the biggest movies of 2023 is available and a must-see.
The big new Prime Video of week 34 that you shouldn’t miss
Video streaming platforms are therefore all experiencing a bit of a lull and we have to hope that the situation for subscribers improves in the next few days. If you have an active Amazon Prime Video subscription, one of the week’s releases should still give you a (very) good evening. Unless you have an aversion to hard-hitting action films, there is a worthy representative of the genre since this morning. The legendary Keanu Reeves has dressed up in his black three-piece suit and is taking over the Prime Video servers with John Wick 4. A real blast and a huge film that should not be missed. This is THE new feature from August 19 to 25, 2024 on the SVOD service.
An episode in which fights and shootings are more prominent than ever and the staging is of a high level. The saga is a real reference in this field and if you have never seen it, the trilogy is also available on Prime Video. In this opus, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) continues his crusade against the Big Table, although he has found a way to put an end to the criminal organization. But his punitive expedition is not carried out without destroying a few enemies with his bare hands, with firearms or a nunchaku. John Wick: Chapter 4 benefits from a very good cast including the late Lance Reddick, Halle Berry, Hiroyuki Sanada (Shogun, Westworld…) and Donnie Yen (IP Man).
If you are fans of Keanu Reeves, you can see the actor again in the Armored Core episode of a new Prime Video series: Secret Level. An animated anthology in which each episode focuses on video game franchises such as FromSoftware, God of War, Kena Bridge of Spirits, Warhammer 40,000, Ghost of Tsushima and many others. It will be available on Amazon Prime Video on December 10, 2024.
