As we mentioned at the beginning, it stands out mainly for offering a series of extremely realistic graphics in a game in which they obviously count a lot, since it seeks to allow users to simulate a real life, in which we can control all the situations they experience our characters. The title can be very complex at first, since it has a large number of mechanics that can be quite overwhelming at first.

Controlling our ZOI’s mood, needs and desires are some of the most important things we will have to do if we want his life to progress favorably, and failing in any of these mechanisms can directly affect the way the character lives.

Character Creation and Customization

For a few days now we can try the demo of the game that will allow us to create a character, and this is one of the most important aspects that the game can have, the fact of being able to customize and define perfectly what we want our ZOI to look like. We can modify practically any aspect we want as we can imagine, be it hair, face, body type, clothes and everything that is necessary to be able to customize the way we want our character to be.

This creation system offers us the possibility of modifying, both in a simple and detailed way, all the aspects that we want to change on the character. For example, we can access the face customization window and use the different points that appear to modify the character. eyes, mouth, nose, eyebrows, etc. The same happens with the body of the character, which will allow us to choose how we want it to be in detail, as well as the clothes, in which we can even load different designs that we have created ourselves.

On the other hand, we also have the possibility to choose which trait we want the ZOI we have created to have, that is, we can select from a total of 18 different traits that will completely change the behavior of the character. If we choose, for example, the Leader trait, we will see that it presents a series of peculiar characteristics, such as the fact that it tends to get the “safe” mood more frequently, as well as the problem that the feeling of “annoyance” lasts longer.

Needs and Mood System

As we mentioned before, the game has a system of needs and moods for each of the characters, something that can be found in any title of the genre and that greatly surprised all those who played The Sims with the arrival of the fourth installment. that introduced a large number of changes in them. In this case, inZOI It also presents a complex system that requires great attention if we want our characters’ lives to be really good, since not meeting certain needs can result in a very compromising situation for our ZOI.

The needs that we can find are quite basic, we have a hunger, hygiene, sleep, bladder, social and fun system, but this title wants to go a little further by introducing two new needs, energy and recognition. As we can imagine, energy indicates the actions that our character can do, if he lacks it, he may not be able to do something, but it is very different from what the dream would be, while the recognition system is the evaluation that other ZOI of our character have, both on social networks and face to face.

On the other hand, we have moods that, as we can imagine, are extremely important, since positive effects such as “safe” or “active” will allow us to complete tasks much better and even faster, while negative effects can prevent us from taking control of the character if it becomes extreme.

Another of the key points that we have seen in the game is the way the world works, that is, in general we can be used to our actions only having an impact on the life of our character, but this game wants to be a simulator as close as possible to reality. And to do this, we must take into account that there is an automatic system (which we can modify at any time) that manages the city, in which our actions will define everything that happens, as well as what the other ZOIs do.

We can find a system that will tell us everything that happened in the city, such as accidents that occurred, whether it was due to problems related to fires, car accidents and even the number of ZOI that were arrested by the police. This obviously implies that there is a whole system behind this that can make our characters interact with the city in the most realistic way possible, that is, anything can happen taking into account the level of detail that we can find.

After a bit of development of this game and after seeing what it can offer us, it is clear that it is a title destined to become one of the great launches, although it remains to be seen if it can really compete with The Sims, since as we well know, EA is developing what would be the fifth installment of this saga (Project Rene).
