Some players can get the new part of the series for free – you can find out what requirements have to be met here.
As part of the gamescom Opening Night Live, Techland announced Dying Light: The Beast, the next standalone experience in the zombie franchise after Dying Light 2. Following the announcement, it has now been revealed that some players can even get the title completely for free – and there is a specific reason for that.
The makers confirmed that Dying Light: The Beast was originally planned as DLC for Dying Light 2: Stay Human. As development progressed, they decided to go for the standalone solution.
Anyone who purchased the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 two years ago also received future additional content in the package – and that’s why all owners of this Ultimate Edition of the earlier title will now also receive the standalone Dying Light: The Beast for free at no additional cost.
Separately, Techland has confirmed that Dying Light 2 will continue to receive post-launch support and content in the future. Details on this are still pending, as is the specific release date for Dying Light: The Beast, which will be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
