Go ahead, watch the trailer below and tell me it doesn’t look like the most exciting, weirdest, most diverse game you’ve ever seen from Capcom? Monster Hunter Wildlands might not have a release date yet, but the game is looking better than ever. Revealed during the Gamescom Opening Night Live stream, the next big Monster Hunter release is set to launch in 2025 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC – and it’s already looking like Game of the Year material.
This brand new gameplay trailer shows off some new monsters, including the new game’s “top” beast, a giant thunderbird that can fold armor plates over its face and shoot massive amounts of electricity at you. You thought Zinogre was a nasty guy…
Even better, we got to see a giant new rose spider that seemed designed purely to show how gorgeous the RE Engine can make textures look; its fluffy rear end and soft lighting on the back of its rose petals were simply ridiculous. I can’t wait to see what its armor looks like–I just hope its abilities are good.

Over the past few weeks, the Monster Hunter Wildlands social media platforms have been releasing videos of various weapons in the game. People are absolutely craving this, and for good reason – if you’ve ever seen a spear main and said “Wow, that’s awesome!” because you can jab and block again, you’ll understand why.
As for the gameplay of Monster Hunter Wildlands, we previewed it earlier this year and were impressed. It inherits more of the wonderful elements of Monster Hunter World, but the setting has changed dramatically and some improvements have been made to make the whole game more attractive.
