Following the release of the “Beasts Are Coming” trailer a few days ago, Dying Light: Beasts has been unveiled at the 2024 Gamescom Opening Night live event.
If you don’t know what that last line means, it’s a live-action trailer for a horror game released by Geoff Keighley that features a woman having a bad time in the woods, which ends with the offensive phrase “Here comes the beast.” Well, now we know what that actually means.

The game looks to be a standalone Dying Light game, and it launches in a somewhat unusual way for the series, with a group of professional-looking soldiers cautiously approaching the lair of an unidentified (but definitely unfriendly) target. Of course, all hell breaks loose when they quickly discover that the squad in front of them has been torn to shreds.
It might sound more spooky than your usual Dying Light, but by the end of the trailer, everything is back on track thanks to the appearance of growling mutant creatures. So you think you’re seeing your usual Dying Light zombies, but more beastly.
So, there it is. Eagle-eyed fans initially linked the aforementioned trailer to Techland’s recently launched phrase “Dying Light: The Beast,” and it turns out that speculation was completely correct.
Dying Light: The Beast has yet to receive a release date, so if you’re excited, just “Add to Wishlist Now!” If you’re now seeing this reveal in relation to Dying Light and are eager to learn more, be sure to reread our Dying Light 2 review, where we summed up the 2022 horror film as: “An invigorating and much-improved sequel that hasn’t quite found its identity yet.”
