After much speculation about it, things finally seem to be confirmed for the upcoming PS5 Pro release date announcement.
During Gamescom 2024, many studios spoke openly about the PS5 Pro, hinting that many have a development kit for Sony’s next console in their hands, so that should mean that the release is quickly approaching. Since then, other rumors have confirmed this widespread speculation.
This time the release of the PS5 Pro is getting much closer
Like the Nintendo Switch 2, the PS5 Pro has definitely generated a lot of discussion. This concerns both its technical sheet and its release. While some believe that Sony is waiting for the right time to launch it, for example the release of a certain GTA 6, the general consensus is that this more powerful version of the PS5 will arrive later this year. Recently, such an estimate has been seriously confirmed, as many studios (large and small) are obviously in the process of testing the beast’s capabilities using development kits. These promise to be very solid, with a more robust technical sheet, technology equivalent to NVIDIA’s DLSS and therefore, on paper, capable of running games developed on engines like the Unreal Engine 5 much better than its big sister.
Several insiders also commented on the famous PS5 Pro release date. Among them, the well-known Jeff Grubb hinted in his latest Giant Bomb podcast that the console will be released in late 2024, confirming numerous leaks on the subject. Sony could therefore take advantage of the end-of-year holidays to hope that gamers will put a PS5 Pro under the tree.
Waiting for an official announcement
As always, we now have to wait for an official announcement from the Japanese giant regarding its PS5 Pro. This should take place during a live event organized by Sony. There are rumors that something like this would take place sometime in September. It remains to be seen if all this is confirmed and if this famous Pro version lives up to all the claims.
