Get ready to head to the theaters, SatoSugu fans (and maybe get on a plane), because the Hidden Inventory arc of Jujutsu Kaisen is being adapted into a compilation film.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is one of the best anime I’ve seen in recent memory, and while I particularly enjoyed certain episodes, the first episode of the season, “Hidden Inventor/Premature Death,” is clearly the standout. From the slice-of-life opening, to the ultra-high quality of the five episodes, to the emotional beats that absolutely break your heart, this episode could easily stand alone as a series on its own. Apparently others feel similarly, because this week, the anime’s official Twitter account announced that the short story will be adapted into a compilation film, scheduled to be released sometime in 2025.

Unfortunately, those are the details for now, but you can always rewatch Hidden Stock and get all your Gojo-Geto hauling needs met in the meantime. Compilation movies aren’t uncommon for popular anime, especially for shorter series, and considering the length of the Shibuya arc in season 2, Hidden Stock seems like the perfect arc to be edited into a movie. Occasionally these movies have newly added scenes and polished animation, but don’t blame me on that front, as it doesn’t always happen. There’s no word yet on whether the movie will be released outside of Japan, so you might want to consider saving up for flights and hotels so you can see last year’s biggest anime on the big screen.

This will apparently help fill in the gaps for season 3, which has been confirmed to begin production after season 2 concludes, though details are scarce as well. More anime is coming, which is a good thing, as last week it was finally confirmed that Jujutsu Kaisen is coming to an end, with only four chapters left, with the final chapter set to release on September 30. Fingers crossed we get a happy ending, but Jujutsu Kaisen will have one anyway.
