SONY has increased the prices for the PlayStation 5 console in Japan by 80 dollars.
Gamers in Japan will have to dig deeper into their pockets if they want to buy a PlayStation 5.
The company announced a price increase for both current PlayStation 5 models as of September 2nd, as well as a whole range of accessories.
According to Gematsu, the price increases are due to “difficult external factors in the environment, including changes in the global economic market and their effects.”
Both the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will be a whopping 80 dollars more expensive.
The PlayStation VR2 headset costs around 93 dollars more.

- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition: ¥59,980 → ¥72,980 (+ 80 dollars)
- DualSense Wireless Controller: ¥9,480 → ¥11,480 (+ 12.42 dollars)
