There is a widely held belief that sport is difficult. The fact that their steep learning curve, niche attraction and high-tech roof is just about swallowing. Arc System Work, developer of hardcore Guilty Gear and the acquisition of Dragon Ball Fighterz, came up with a sweetener with Granblue Fantasy Vs. As an adaptation of JRPG's most popular and manufactured by the best manufacturers of martial arts today, Granblue has the potential to be truly stellar. Is this a fighting game for those struggling to find happiness in the genre – or is it just the same?
To start with the list, Granblue Fantasy Vs has a nice non-burning pool of 12 characters to choose from. If there is silver in that small selection, however, the diversity of the archetypes of the game is surprisingly large. You've got everything from your best firefighters and high-profile rivals, long-rangers, and non-holders, alongside dozens of others with very different gaming styles. These character variations are consistent with the appearance of each character, since they all seem to fill a variety of flavors. Are you a sad person? Where is Vaseraga! Do you like basic and simple things? Gran is the best vanilla for contestants to find all year. This lack of visual style and fighting styles should ensure you find someone you love.
Granblue Fantasy: Comparison and Review

- Availability: Now on PS4
If there is one aspect the characters – and everything else for that matter – have in common, that they are all very good. I don't think how much work it would have taken for Arc System Work artists to achieve the beauty of Granblue, but all that effort is worth it. 3D battlefields with beautiful images come from behind and seldom get lost no matter how detailed the stage is, their movements are smooth, and every attack looks like a huge force in it, while stages range from dreamy towns and castles rush to the back of buildings, to sweeping mountains. Granblue Fantasy Vs eye candy of the highest caliber.
Speaking of the meat of it all, Granblue Fantasy Vs is everything you want from a fighting game to depth but with more tools and more mechanics to make it easier to deal with. Add-ons such as auto combos and super attack attacks have all been done before, but Arc System Work comes with the introduction of a special navigation button. Gone are the days of practice of incorporating fireball guides into muscle memory, as they now come out with a single touch of R1. I can only say that it took me 10 minutes to meet the character in Granblue before I could do well with the other players. It is important to note that the top tier of competitive gaming is not just about entering the triangle and hitting R1, as the most damaging combos still require a high level of practice. Granblue Fantasy finds that sweet spot between cake travel and homework.
The Granblue Fantasy Vs & # 39; standout offered is its story mode. Instead of slapdash installations without a large amount of depth (I'm looking at you Street Fighter V), the story mode in Granblue Fantasy Vs is packed with enough features to prevent it from ever becoming a motto. These come in various forms, such as the pull of weapons that dramatically increase your character's stats and affect their abilities. Later in the story, you unlock other things such as backup skills, a store where you can spend extra money, and the ability to bring an AI controller character on your journey. The rare times when you and your partner add enemies to each other add a little oomph that makes regular battles feel special. There's also an arcade mode – but it's not amazing here compared to the story, even though it's where you can unlock some cosmetics.
But even though the story mode can be bad, it is pulled down by a crazy person who is in trouble with Arc System Works. This issue – which lays out many of the best features of the game – is Granblue Fantasy Vs & # 39; s time-based netcode, which is a problem unfortunately encountered in most combat games created today. Online gaming is currently good, fun or bad. Sure, you'll find a healthy amount of playable games where you can pull off that combo you've been practicing for hours, but the unforgettable presence of laggy games and unanswered games is a nice twist. Granblue Fantasy Vs online fills you with a sense of excitement and excitement for a while, as it will produce the next release.
To be Blude, this is a multi-year limited issue in some games. Rising Thunder released in 2015, Skelegirls in 2012, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix in 2008! All built-in netcode allowed for online playback that doesn't sound like a campsite by a swamp. When indie blogging about your budget can create a game with decent netcode there is just no reason for it. Not by 2020.
With this feature in mind, some unique features are sadly losing some of their features. Take a dedicated lesson that applies to all the basics you may need to get started. Simple lessons like how to block different types of invasive attacks exist as you might expect, which sounds strange in a way? There aren't many people who enjoy living in tutorials – mine included – but the addition of equipment levels within Granblue's teaching mode makes a big difference. These optional challenges are huge for young players as they reward them for completing them while fully learning the strategies within them. If you feel motivated to learn how each aspect of the game works, the upcoming skillset that has resulted in millions of people across the wall scrolling to "skip this" before launching Fortnite may seem less helpful.
Which would be a great blessing for young players, if they had enough online space to use these courses. This leads to the sad truth behind Granblue Fantasy Vs, that while there is an excellent amount of respect in terms of source content and excellent dedication to making the game appealing to new players, it fails in what is arguably the most important game – the act of playing against other people. For many, online gaming will now be tolerated, but as the player base decreases over time the number of games played will decrease. I'm worried that players will celebrate a time of genuine enjoyment, so far frustration is dominated by persistent power and Granblue Fantasy Vs has become just another unreadable topic – their colorful rooms are quite apart from the diminished community of dedicated fans.
If the best game can distract you from online problems, or if you have people nearby to play this with IRL, Granblue Fantasy Vs is a good buy. Fans of the franchise will love the game without a doubt, but I'm worried that a wave of potential fans will be reduced to playing shortly after release.
