Despite having some potential, Diablo 4 Season 5 disappointed players due to major issues at the core of the mechanics that this update attempts to fix, but…
Diablo 4’s fifth season, called “Infernal Hordes,” held all the cards to keep players busy until the Vessel of Hatred DLC was released. But while there are many major issues marring the gameplay, a new update is attempting to alleviate them, there’s still plenty of work to be done in Sanctuary.
A hellish Season 5 for Diablo 4
Diablo Season 5 introduced a mechanic that gave it its name: the ability to face real hellish hordes and receive great rewards after defeating increasingly formidable enemies. However, the whole thing suffers from major problems that make the entire mechanic almost obsolete or even unfairly difficult at a very high level.
Blizzard has therefore deployed a small patch that aims to correct what can be corrected in Season 5 of Diablo 4. Unfortunately, this only solves part of the infernal equation. The update in question reduces what the community considers to be excessive damage in relation to certain bosses introduced or updated with Season 5, and takes the opportunity to make some improvements in terms of stability and performance. Unfortunately, the issue with the chests unlocking after a run against the Infernal Hordes is still not resolved. Blizzard has indicated that it is actively looking for a solution in this direction, but players are starting to get impatient.
Please note that there will be a fire talk with the Diablo 4 team on August 29. This stream will be an opportunity to talk about Patch 2.0 as well as the new features coming to the game in October, both through the Vessel of Hatred DLC and through Season 6, which is set to add yet another new mechanic. Let’s hope Blizzard takes the opportunity to fix the immediate issues related to Season 5 and that the rest of the schedule will be less hellish. In the meantime, you can find the notes on the update that interests us here on the official Blizzard website, indicated in the source below.
