Prison break

Before game of Thrones When it came to changing the face of the world of television series, this medium was not really considered prestigious compared to cinema. However, there were already some series that had managed to impress everyone due to their many qualities. For example, we are talking about Lostfrom The fourth dimension or The X-Filesbut also of the monument, which was Prison break. Originally broadcast between 2005 and 2009, the series includes no less than 90 episodes of 45 minutes on average, divided into five seasons. In France, the public was able to discover the adventures of the brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield, especially on M6. As a reminder, the former was subsequently imprisoned after being falsely accused of killing the brother of the Vice President of the United States, while the latter deliberately imprisoned himself to free his brother. Before finding himself behind bars, he had made sure to have the prison plans tattooed on his body, the first step in a well-oiled escape plan. If you want to relive the thrilling adventures of the two most famous brothers on television, you will soon be able to do so without leaving your sofa. Indeed, the complete Prison Break and its credits, directed by Faf Larage, will be released on Netflix on September 4.

Emily in Paris

It can hardly be more clichéd than the depiction of the capital of France that is presented to us Emily in Paris. Despite its completely grotesque and almost offensive side, we must admit that the series does have a charm, if we assume that it never wanted anything other than entertainment. Better still, most viewers who tried the experience ended up developing a certain, half-supposed, addiction to Emily’s setbacks and her love stories. But after three seasons of “I don’t love you either” between Emily, Gabriel and Alfie, things finally pick up in this fourth season. However, as with many other series in recent years, Netflix has decided to split the latter into two parts. So it’s only the first half of the season made available last month and it’s finally time to get the sequel. Indeed, episodes 6 to 10 of the fourth season of Emily in Paris will be released on Netflix from September 12. The opportunity for the main character to change scenery to discover the Alps, apparently, but also to change country! In fact, Emily is also sent to Rome as part of her work… even if it means risking intruding on her personal life, as usual. Bring out the popcorn (and pizzas) in a few weeks!

Monster: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez

If you haven’t been living in a cave in 2022, you can’t miss the series “Monsters: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”. Also produced directly by Netflix, the series was better known at the time as “Dahmer” and was directed by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, both of whom had already worked together on “Glee” and “The Politician”. The aim was to discover the life of Jeffrey Dahmer, a serial killer particularly known for the violence of his crimes. In September, the series returns for a second season and this time, as expected, it’s about uncovering the life of another American killer. And when I say one, I actually mean two since the series Monster: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez will return to a 1996 case in which Lyle and Erik Menendez were convicted of murdering their parents. For now, only a short teaser of a few seconds has been broadcast, but suffice it to say that the series is highly anticipated by those who loved the first season. We will have to wait until September 19 to know the story of the two murderous brothers. Be patient.

Twilight of the Gods

Aaaah Zack Snyder. Few directors are as revered or hated as he is. It must be said that he has accustomed us to it very well (300, The Kingdom of Ga’Hoole…), but also very bad (Rebel Moon, Man of Steel) and above all very mixed (Batman vs Superman, sucker Punch…) throughout his career. Today, he is best known for his (excessive?) use of slow motion and for his famous director’s cut of Justice League, and viewers are always waiting to discover his new projects, hoping that they will be better than the last. Good news: Zack Snyder will be back in September thanks to a new animated series called ” Twilight of the Gods. As the name suggests, the series will plunge us into the heart of Norse mythology and introduce us to the story of Leif, a mortal king who is saved on the battlefield by Sigrid, a warrior with whom he falls in love. Unfortunately for the new couple, the god Thor quickly sends them on a mission through the underworld, where they may have to fight many dangers to return alive. As I write these lines, the series has only unveiled a small teaser (which you can discover below), but the artistic direction already seems convincing. Note to Zack Snyder skeptics: know that he will not be alone in production, as he will be accompanied by Jay Oliva and Eric Carrasco. To find out if the project is better than Rebel Moon, you will have to wait until September 19 and connect to Netflix.
