Upon completing this quest, the Statue of the Negotiator grants Link a Heart Container or a Vessel of Stamina, equivalent to completing four shrines.

It’s interesting that these four chasms are all directly connected to BOTW’s shrines, but ultimately unsurprising given the importance of the Ancient Shrines of the Great Plateau. The Great Plateau served as a tutorial area in BOTW, and these four shrines gave Link the abilities of the Sheikah Slate, used throughout the game. In TOTK, there is very little to do on the Great Plateau, with “A Call from the Deep” being the most prominent activity, making the Abysses a subtle reminder of its predecessor.
