Attention Minecraft fans! The first trailer for the film starring Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Jack Black (Super Mario Bros. the Movie) and Emma Myers (Wednesday) is online and looks totally WTF.
Will Warner Bros. repeat the success of ? Barbie with Minecraft: The Movie? Nobody knows, but the potential is clearly there. Whether we completely reject Mojang’s proposal or whether we love it, we are still talking about a community of more than 170 million monthly players, so the curiosity effect alone could attract a gigantic number of fans to the cinemas. After filming and information leaked, the film is finally being shown and it is completely absurd.
The Minecraft movie is revealed with its first teaser trailer
No one has necessarily asked for it, but there will be a live-action Minecraft feature film that mixes live-action and CGI for the characters in the license. In keeping with what has been done Pokémon Detective Pikachu or Sonic the Movie. And to play the protagonists of the real world we find well-known actors with Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Jack Black (Super Mario Bros. the movie), Emma Myers (Wednesday) or even Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Sebastian Eugene Hansen (The Path of Justice, Lisey’s Story) and actress Jennifer Coolidge (from the Max series The White Lotus). Here is the summary:
“Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity is essential for survival! As four outsiders – Garrison Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks) – struggle with their daily problems, they suddenly stumble upon a mysterious portal and are projected into the Overworld – a strange cubic world that thrives on imagination. To return home, they must dominate this world (and protect it from evil creatures like piglins and zombies) while embarking on a magical quest alongside experienced fabricator Steve (Jack Black). This adventure will push them to be brave and use their unique creative qualities – so many skills they’ll need to succeed in the real world.”
In addition to the pitch, Warner Bros. released the first trailer for the Minecraft movie. A production by Jared Hess (Thelma The Unicorn on Netflix), it promises to be pretty crazy, hilarious or embarrassing, depending on your point of view. To witness a disaster or a pleasant surprise, go to 2 April 2025 in the cinema.
