The Chinese title inspired by the legend of the Monkey King and Journey to the West is one of the biggest gaming success stories of recent years. Driven by its popularity in its home country, the game Black Myth: Wukong managed to surpass 18 million copies sold in just two weeks and its developers are already working on an expansion that will be sold as DLC.
This news was confirmed by Bloomberg. In an interview with Daniel Wu of Hero Games —the company that invested a huge amount of money in Game Science so they could make the game over six years— he confirms that the studio “is working on an expansion that will allow them to monetize the game for a second time”He also says he believes the game could sell more than 30 million copies.
Despite the cynical and business-focused way he talks about the game, it’s news that will cheer up fans who want to spend more time with the Monkey King. Sadly, he didn’t talk about when this expansion might arrive. Black Myth: Wukong nor did it give any hints as to where this DLC might take the story.
